Paid Media Specialist


The primary role of the Performance / Paid Media Specialist  is to support the paid search team with the creation, implementation, monitoring and analysis of foundational paid search account tactics. The Specialist works closely with the Performance Media Manager on paid search campaign builds, pacing, performance reporting, and monitoring of the search results page landscape.. The goal for the Specialist is to build on his or her understanding of search basics to ultimately take on more strategic day-to-day management responsibilities within client paid search accounts. Provide data to help the team derive insights and evolve the accounts overall.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure campaigns are meeting/exceeding goals, deliver recommendations for areas of opportunity for improvement
  • May be client facing and or responsible for independently managing client accounts as necessary
  • 2 years of experience in paid search account work required (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads)
  • Intermediate – advanced level Excel skills required


Campaign Management

  • Monitor keyword performance and lead ongoing optimization recommendations
  • Develop, implement and monitor paid search ad copy, various ad extensions for new initiative launches and ad hoc creative refresh periods
  • Pace multiple campaign spends to designated budget allocations
  • Leverage appropriate automated bid strategies in bid management platforms to maximize performance given different campaign goals
  • Lead new campaign builds using industry best practices for campaign structure, ad creation, match type bid hierarchy, various layers of negative keyword alignment and tracking requirements
  • Conduct keyword research and traffic forecasting using engine, proprietary and third-party tools
  • Ensure proper campaign setting application, lead recurring and ad hoc account audits
  • Explore and recommend ongoing testing opportunities, including A/B landing page tests, BETA tests, ad copy tests, audience targeting, day parting, various bid models, additional vendor utilization, Paid Social, Display, Video experience preferred 


  • Assist in pulling data and ensuring accurate reporting to meet client specific cadence needs (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, year end wrap ups, ad hoc)
  • Perform regular search query report analyses to identify positive and negative keyword expansion opportunities
  • Provide trend insights and drivers of performance that tie back to specified account KPIs
  • Leverage competitive landscape monitoring tools to identify key SERP trends pertinent to client account optimizations/shape strategic direction
  • Present performance updates to internal and client-side stakeholders on a recurring and ad hoc basis


  • Contribute to the strategic direction of accounts within the client portfolio given various business goals
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for CE  within specific client team and internal search team overall
  • Participate in the ongoing growth of paid search team members through regular training and knowledge exchange sessions
