Who you are

The SEO Manager is responsible for holistic SEO account management including strategy, planning, tracking diagnostics, analysis, and optimization. This role is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of SEO strategies spanning content, link-winning, reputation management, website improvements, local SEO, and other organic tactics.


What you’ll do

  • Management of SEO direct reports
  • SEO Strategy Development & Ongoing Performance Improvement for Primary Accounts
  • Oversee SEO strategy for large, complex and high-profile accounts
  • Support business development, research, and brand strategy initiatives with SEO expertise
  • Support for service line evolution and process development


 Key Responsibilities Include

  • Lead, manage and hold your direct SEO direct reports accountable for their performance and achievement of key accountabilities
  • Conduct 1:1s, quarterly conversations, and annual reviews with direct report(s)
  • Skills Training of Team - Assist team members with the training of tools, processes, skills, and optimizations
  • Create development plans for all assigned direct reports to ensure they have a clear path for development and training plan
  • Keep a pulse on morale and satisfaction of direct reports
  • Develop organic strategies and roadmaps for primary portfolio that focus on client goals and opportunities.
  • Provide input and oversight into the creation of organic strategies and roadmaps for secondary portfolio (portfolio of direct reports).
  • Provide strategic counsel and recommendations to clients and internal team on opportunities for expansion, new tactics, and strategic shifts.
  • Present findings and optimizations to clients in a clear and easy-to-understand manner
  • Accurately develop, implement, and manage successful client results, demonstrating revenue/lead goals, efficiency, and volume to ensure high profitability and quality traffic generation.
  • Continually evaluate the effectiveness of performance by performing keyword research, website performance analysis, gap analysis, competitor analysis, comprehensive content and technical audits.
  • Rising client performance issues to SEO Director as needed for primary and secondary portfolio.
  • Ability to provide strategic SEO consulting, roadmap creation, and execution for the largest and most complex SEO clients in Adept’s portfolio.
  • Ability to delegate tasks for primary portfolio as needed to ensure direct report(s) maintain(s) a reasonable workload, and so the Manager maintains an ability to provide oversight and strategic leadership.
  • Collaboration with paid media, conversion optimization, content, and other departments to develop holistic strategy recommendations.
  • Assist in assessing and scoping SEO extension and new business opportunities
  • Proactively bring new opportunities, tools/technologies and insights to SEO Director when they could lead to innovation of the SEO service offering
  • Support the creation and maintenance of SEO process documentation and templates.
  • Support the execution of the SEO vision in alignment with the SEO Director, including support for thought leadership and SEO team education & alignment.


What we look for

  • Experience and desire in people-leadership, including management and training experience in digital marketing
  • Experience managing SEO strategy for large, highly complex websites
  • Ability to manage and execute SEO strategies across multiple accounts
  • Ability to provide all aspects of SEO execution support, including a mix of hands-on implementation, strategic oversight, and collaboration with client and internal teams
  • Ability to collaborate alongside developers, copywriters, paid media specialists, and other members of the SEO team
  • Ability to collaborate with other agency partners and client teams
  • Ability to make complex SEO concepts understandable
  • Interest in continuing education in digital marketing
